I hope that you are enjoying your November as much as I have been. I know we’re weird in this household, but we revel in the cool, damp and misty months. My daughters and I love sweaters, our Bogs boots, and choosing from a plethora of scarves. I love having a fire in the hearth, and illuminating the house with twinkle lights and candles. My daughter Azalea and I are both knitting a lot these winter days as well.
I also love the dark and quiet mornings when I get up at 6:00 to do my spiritual practice of study and meditation. As many of my students know, these practices are non-negotiable for me. In order to be of the best service I can be to my family, friends, clients and students, I want to wake up every day to divine awareness, to the best of my ability. I’ve recently been re-reading Spiritual Liberation by Michael Bernard Beckwith, as well as taking advantage of his live-streamed dharma talks on meditation. MBB is one of my favorite spiritual teachers, and my meditation practice has been largely influenced by his ability to articulate the concepts of consciousness, awareness, and divine presence, in a way that is immediately accessible to me. These talks happen live on Sunday mornings at 6:30 am , but you can access them through the Agape archives. Here is the link to the first of these teachings and meditations – you want to choose the 6:30 AM The Way of Meditation
